Wairau River Reserve Marlborough Syrah

This is a very special wine for us, grown in the Angler vineyard, hand harvested, it spends 18 months in oak to build a silky texture into the mid-palate. It's a beautifully expressive wine with dark fruits and bramble on the nose and pairs well with darker meats and spicy dishes. We call our wine Syrah, as opposed to Shiraz, as the style is more like the elegant finer styles of the Northern Rhône.

Deeply coloured with notes of concentrated black fruits, violet, leather and sweet baking spices on the nose. The palate is rich and complex, with elegant refined tannins and a long finish.
